Privacy Policy
Effective date: January 6, 2025
a11y agent ("the Extension") is a Chrome extension built by AccessLint. This policy describes what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and your rights.
What we collect
The Extension audits the currently active web page for accessibility issues. To do this, it reads the DOM of the page you are viewing. This data is processed locally in your browser and is not transmitted to any external server unless you explicitly use the AI-powered remediation feature.
AI-powered remediation
If you choose to use the AI guidance feature, relevant page context (such as the HTML of the element with a violation) is sent to an AI API to generate remediation suggestions. No data is sent unless you initiate this action.
What we do not collect
- We do not collect personal information (name, email, etc.)
- We do not track browsing history
- We do not use cookies or analytics trackers
- We do not sell or share data with third parties
Data storage
Audit results are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. No audit data is stored on external servers.
Your rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the data the Extension holds about you (which is only local browser storage)
- Request deletion of that data (by uninstalling the Extension or clearing its storage)
- Withdraw consent at any time by disabling or uninstalling the Extension
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
